International co-operation

At Saab, international co-operation is important to ensure open and transparent ways of doing business, as well as a level playing field.

In today’s global economy, companies have an important role in fighting corruption. Joint industry initiatives and other forms of collective action are important tools to promote a fair and open marketplace and to preventing corruption.

Saab was one of the companies behind the Common Industry Standards, a policy framework for business ethics developed in 2007 under the auspices of the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD).
The company was also among the founders of the International Forum on Business Ethical Conduct (IFBEC), a non-profit organization aimed at developing industry-wide ethical standards for the global aerospace and defence industry. Saab is a member of the steering committee of IFBEC and has signed up to its Global Principles.

Industry challenges and policy issues relating to the Swedish defence industry are addressed in the Swedish Security and Defence Industry Association (SOFF), where Saab is a member and represented on its board of directors.

The engagement in industry initiatives, such as IFBEC, ASD and SOFF, are important means to improve and assure the quality of our anti-bribery and corruption efforts through benchmarking and best practice sharing.
